The Crew

The crew of the tall ship Thalassa turns a beautiful journey into an unforgettable one. Thalassa is renowned for its cozy atmosphere and hospitality on board. From the service in the salon and at the bar to the maintenance on the foredeck or the tasks in the mast: the crew is always approachable (up to a certain mast height).

Jacob Jan Dam (Captain, Commercial Director, and Owner of Thalassa): “The crew, under the leadership of the captain, is responsible for the smooth operation of the ship. In addition to sailing, tasks such as cleaning, painting, bartending, and making beds are also part of their daily duties.”

Thalassa always sails with one captain, a mate, at least two sailors, and a cook. Sometimes there is a host/hostess on board and additional bar staff, depending on the type of voyage. Thalassa operates with a mixed crew of both men and women.
