Sail out from Aberdeen, amidst a Parade of Sail and venture into a blistering race past several waypoints en route to the finish line. Explore and spend the night in Stavanger, Egersund and Flekkefjord. Navigate through day and night to be the fastest and take in scenic Norway.
Then head out and meet guests from other ships for a barbecue on the beach or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the fjords. In Kristiansand, the adventure ends, during lively port events together with other ships. Fraternise with the other crews and look back on your journey together.
Every year, an international fleet of Tall Ships, small ships and sailing yachts come together to promote Sail Training and international friendship among young people. Rules dictate that at least 50 per cent of the participants are between 15 and 25 years old. The ships participate in Races and Cruise in Company stages, sail between different host ports and then take part in port festivals.
This voyage is open to anyone between the ages of 15 and 75. An intergenerational voyage with a dynamic crew, with 50% of the trainees under the age of 25 and the other 50% above that. Each trip includes a Parade of Sail, as well as two days in the destination port, where trainees participate in the Crew Parade, awards ceremony, Crew Party, games and competitions. Are you up for the adventure? Then sign up for this trip!
Aberdeen is also known as ‘the silver city with the golden sands’. This city (inhabited for 8000 years!) on Scotland’s east coast has plenty of must-sees: historical hotspots, its many parks and gardens, and throughout the year the city organises various festivals. Besides the cultural calendar, the variety of wonderful pubs is also huge in Aberdeen, so be sure to take the time to get to know the locals – and thus the city’s history and beautiful spots – over a pint.
Kristiansand, with its fine sand and palm trees, is the Honolulu of Norway. It’s hard to choose from thousands of islands. The sea and surrounding fjords are perfect for fishing and sailing, and the nearby interior and mountains are ideal for skiing and hiking. Want to explore the city on your own and look for souvenirs? The old Posebyen district, with whitewashed walls and the largest collection of charming wooden houses is full of quirky shops. The districts of Kvadraturen, Markens and Skippergata also have numerous shops, cafés and restaurants. Street art, giant murals, art galleries and museums can be found all over Kristiansand.
