Ahoy adventurers!
Get ready for an epic Hebrides sailing trip from Ullapool to Scrabster, from 13 to 20 September 2025!
We will start our journey with a warm welcome aboard Thalassa in Ullapool on Saturday 13 September at 4pm. From there, we set sail for the enchanting Tarbert on Harris, where we can enjoy 50 nautical miles of stunning views and adventure at sea.
Tarbert is a picturesque village located on the island of Harris that is part of Scotland’s Outer Hebrides. It is known for its beautiful scenery, traditional distillery and world-famous Scottish woollens. We take a short walk to the other side of the island. There we have views over the Atlantic Ocean. We then continue our journey to Stornoway on Lewis. There, a day of discoveries awaits us.
Stornoway is the largest town on the island of Lewis and Harris and offers a mix of historic sights, modern amenities and vibrant culture. From Stornoway, we sail on to the Orkneys in the evening, arriving in Scapa Bay after a longer sail, or in the event of unfavourable currents, in Stromness.
The Orkney Islands are an archipelago of around 70 islands located off the north-east coast of Scotland. They are known for their rich archaeological heritage, beautiful scenery and excellent sailing conditions. From Scapa Bay, we can take a walk through the historic centre of Kirkwall, the capital of the Orkneys. In the evening, we sail a short distance, to Stromness. In the evening, there will be an opportunity to visit the cosy town.
Friday during the day, there is the option of a bike ride to remains of the prehistoric village of Scara Brae and the stone circle of Stenness. The alternative is a 9km walk around Stromness and Warbeth. In the afternoon, it’s time to sail to our final destination: Scrabster.
We make another short crossing, arriving at this beautiful port. Scrabster is a port town located on the north coast of Scotland in the Caithness region. It offers stunning views of the rugged coastline and the nearby Orkney Islands, as well as excellent fishing opportunities and historical sites.
We have the pleasure of having Gerard Spaans, our walking guide to Scotland, on board. Gerard will organise the walks and various excursions and will guide us as we explore the wonderful places we encounter along the way.
So cast off the ropes and prepare for an unforgettable sailing experience along the enchanting coastlines of Scotland. See you on board!
